Today we decided to leave Perth and head to Fremantle. It was a shorter drive than expected and we wandered around the narrow streets and found a place to have lunch. After lunch we'd booked to do the Tunnel tour at the Fremantle Prison. I'd mentioned that I wasn't all that keen on going underground but decided to try anyway. After going through all the preliminary stuff (getting the gear on, watching the videos) it was time to descend the ladders. Feeling okay after going down 20 metres, the guide (Steve) was telling us about the shells in the limestone and the tree roots we could see and then we turned a corner and went deeper into the tunnels. It was at this point that the panic set in and I had to get out of there quickly. I said goodbye to the kids, have a good time and I'll see you when you get back to the top. Craig and the kids enjoyed the tour and I enjoyed sitting in the van with Jess the dog....

After the tour we headed further south and unable to find a caravan park that allowed dogs, we smuggled Jesse into one park and stayed the night. The rain came down quite heavy and as everyone seemed tired we had a pretty early night.
